Help! Can't start the game!

When i try to start the game on my pc (windows 7) this comes up:

"grimrock.exe has stopped working" Sometimes you can see the loadingscreen before. But more often not.

Any ideas?

It could be anything. System files corrupted, incompatible hardware drivers, virus, etc. From the looks of your error message, it might be windows system files damage. Reference: http://www.wiki-errors.com/wiki-errors. ... c000009c#1

If I were you I re format everything Thats always solve anything. Unless you have hardware problems, tats different story.

I strongly discourage everyone to download anything from any site that says "Repair Tool" for a generic device error.
Thats just too obvious.

Yeah, maybee it's time to reformat...
But it still work's even if my windows is on another drive? It's the windowsfiles I want to format, yes?

you should try windows tools like chkdsk to find the error first.

I never be bother running chkdsk for few reason. One, I am not an IT person, altho I familiar with some PC troubleshooting but I aint a pro, 2nd it will get me more frustrated when trying to find the source of the problem, 3rd when I actually find the cause, mostly I cant fix it, even using auto repair or what ever from windows, its just seems never works for me. So format, works wonders . But make sure you have backups

I have reinstalled windows. And now it doesn't even come into the loadscreen. : /
I just says "Preparing first time installation". Then nothing.

I reinstalled the game again, now it seems to work. Thank's for the replies.

Okey, I played like 4 hours yesterday. And under that period i closed the game several times. Now I wanted to play it again but the same error came as in the first post. : (
