Items? Drop or carry?
Re: Items? Drop or carry?
So far the weight hasn't been a problem, it's the actual spaces for items that have been limiting me . (Like the mushroom cap things that don't stack)
Re: Items? Drop or carry?
Weight is an issue for me. Are your characters up to the point of carrying around steel armor yet?

Do you guys use boxes and bags? I am not very far in yet but I have two bags and a box already, I hope there are a few more later on.
Re: Items? Drop or carry?
Definitely. It prevents clutter.
Re: Items? Drop or carry?
My first time through (and still a bit, the second) I worried over keeping gear for 'later'.
One of the things that impressed me most about the game is the floor/drop mechanics. So many things have ground models and they arrange with such variety. It made it impossible NOT to backtrack routinely and establish a little shrine to gear I might need, or felt reluctant to part with (sentimental).
Every one or two levels I'd move the 'shrine' and this gave me a reason to discard second or third rate stuff.
Amazing detail by the developers, wonderful stuff.

scrolls? Notes? BAH no need to carry them just make your own notes and save space.Dalton wrote:Food is heavy so I would say let a fighter carry it. My mage carries scrolls, notes, herbs, and basically anything that's lightweight but takes up an annoying amount of inventory space.

Well actually there are a few scrolls you have to cart around for a short time.

Things I didn't need during my playthrough: scrolls, spells, potion recipes, ammunitions (a part from those you use), a large portion of my food, a couple of sacks were enough to keep for safety, empty crates/sacks, toorum's notes, already used gems (save the red one for an iron door I believe), more than a couple of torches (you can basically replace your torch once you find one on the wall each time), treasures found I think, excessive ingredients like the slime balls or cave nettle (i only used health and energy potions, speed potions for the warrior's challenge). Compass.
Things I needed: just what my characters wear, if i didn't plan to get heavy armor on my fighter or light on my rogue I tossed the pieces away, I only needed one weapon each character, I had a missile weapon speacialist rogue and I threw all the daggers away, you need the fireball sword for a puzzle and the bone amulet for another, the rest you can throw away, I also didn't need torches because I used the light spell. You need rocks, a arrow a skull a key for a puzzle also. But regarding equippable stuff you could throw away what you're not using at the moment.

Re: Items? Drop or carry?
That’s one of the issues I have with the game, inventory management. And the scrolls taking up way to much space. You want to drop them but you’re afraid that you might forget the spell combo for it. This is where I really wish that you could scribe spells and cast them. The other issues I have is my Minator wearing heavy armor. It’s so damn heavy that he can’t carry much at all. There really needs to be some kind of str rings or gauntlets in the game to help him offset that weight problem.Dalton wrote:Food is heavy so I would say let a fighter carry it. BTW, you dont need torches if you find the Mage Orb. it gives of fa blue light so thats a big plus too.

Bags dont hold as much, but they dont weigh anything either. boxes weigh about 3KG if I recall. I use bags when ever possible.technotica wrote:Do you guys use boxes and bags? I am not very far in yet but I have two bags and a box already, I hope there are a few more later on.

I did not keep any unneeded scrolls or notes because I just jotted the information down.
