Already completed the game see sig. And yes I took skilled on a lot of my characters but did not rank anything to 50.
It is pitch black. You are likely to be eaten by a grue.

Simple question: Do torches and shield compromise your unarmed character? Is it better to play an unarmed rogue or warrior? Considering you only have 50~ skill points available.

I don't believe so. As long as your clicking the empty hand when your attacking it should count that.

As long as you have a single hand spare, you can use your unarmed attacks. stat boosts don't seem to be "active" when you have that weapon in hand, so even if you were to fill both hands, you would still get all the base stats from the tree.

I'd suggest a Rogue over Fighter for unarmed - Dodge has more easily obtainable evasion bonuses - as as they are on the front lines, definitely use a shield.

The swing is based on the hand you click on. So as long as that hand is empty, you'll benefit from unarmed perks.

So basically I could use a shield for evasion bonus. I can make the a super dodgy ninja monk that goes around armed with a huge tower shield :\

I've been debating that one myself. Considering my front line is warrior/rogue. My internal debate was that unarmed would be great on the warrior as 20 evasion would seriously enhance his moderate score, giving a much better return on him versus the evasion specialized rogue which 20 evasion would have serverly dimished returns seeing as they never get hit as it is. On the flip side, swords are awesome and I would miss out on them giving my only eligible sword guy the unarmed skill.

I did work it out, seeing that I would have to replace the elusive skill with the brawler skill and lose 7 evasion, so I did finally decide on a sword for the warrior.

I finished the game last night, so now I feel I can make a more informed- optimized party build:

Warrior Human, skilled/elusive
8 points in armor for light
rest into sword. This guy can actually hit 50 sword with 1 book.

Rogue Human, skilled/brawler
24 dodge for double evasion bonus
rest into unarmed. Other book(s) go here.

Rogue Minotaur, skilled/headhunter
50 in missile weapons

Rogue Minotaur, skilled/aggresive
50 in thrown

The damage output, with easy deliver (no mage), and a durable front line makes me very happy

Lizard Unarmed Fighter with Evasive and Fist Figther
Human Armored Swordsman with Evasive and Skilled
Mino Missile Rogue with Skilled and Headhunter
Human Air Mage Skilled and Strong mind

Owning hard on lvl 6. Unarmed lizard is so imba. Has slightly more attack than swordsman almost double the accuracy and 78 evasion. And he can focus just on 1 skill while the swordsman had to get 16 armor.
