... the gomorogs? I mean does the poison kill their shields faster?
More specifically, do Gomorogs' shields wear off after set amount of strikes taken or after soaking some amount of damage?
If I need to hit them 7-8 times before they loose the shield, then the poison might be the way to go, as it does repetitive damage fast, but if it's a set amount of damage (say... 300) then poison will be just as useless as it is now.
Poison will contribute to damage against their shield, but it requires them to stand in the damn cloud. Which, considering how deadly they can be, happens rarely.

The shield seems to be based on damage.
Meh I never liked that cloud. The Bolt is not so bad but the cloud dude nothing stands in it for long and at lest in his special case trying to go toe to toe with something to keep them in a th could is suicide.
It is pitch black. You are likely to be eaten by a grue. My end game stats LoG 1st play through

The other downside to the cloud is if you're doing the 2x2, you often end up either standing in it yourself or having to move to a new 2x2 square to avoid it (losing damage time).

Agree which is why in my 2nd play ...

As Toorum I only dumped a few points to get the bolt and will be using fire for the most part

Hmm I asked because it seemed to me that they have been losing it even after poking with spears and using knife but I might have gotten some sick rolls. Kinda strange that damage is shown to be 0. You don't really know if you hit hard or not.
It would be nice if someone could confirm it, because even if its hard to keep them in the cloud it still might be helpful if their shields are strike-based and you are slow on attack (vide TR).

Spear? your still using the spear that far down?
Anyways purely anecdotal but I have dropped there shield in one hit so can confirm it is most likely damage total based and not hits. My main heavy hitter a Minotaur with five skulls and the ice fell hammer drops their shields with one hit pretty often.

well then at least I know not to pack points into earth at all. Goodbye +5 skillpoint bonus :C
about the spear - yeah with 2 mages in the back, one with orb and staff and the other with second orb and spear. Poking the resistant lizards or the cube ftw.

Did you not wanna maybe...pick up another staff?
Though the spear is a hilarious weapon
Well, +5 Energy is not really that much when you have 150+ and, like I said, he would be useless vs ice resistant units then. this way he could at least contribute instead of just cheering up the party. (Although, I think I quickly swapped the spear back for weapon of power at the end.)
