I cut down my post, it had alot more info, devil has posted the majority now, but ill post my full essay for anyone who wants to read it anyway =p

You can play a special game type, as opposed to using the stock 4 characters, or using 4 of your own ... you play solo as Toorum, with a new class, new traits, and a initial boost to your skills

This is all the information ive gathered on solo play:


Start a new game, create your own toons, type "Toorum" into the name box, and hit enter

Any changes you made prior to hitting enter are disregarded, and you are presented with a "Stock" Toorum character, with these stats,

This ofcourse means you cant solo play an Air Mage, Or Maces Minotaur, only the stock Toorum.

To unlock the Toorum solo play...

You need to have used his bones on a life crystal, after finding his dead body on B10

Solo play starting stats
Class - Ranger
Str - 18
Dex - 15
Vit - 16
Will - 12

Traits
Tough [+15 hp]
Skilled [+3 skillpoints]
Thunderstruck [REALLY fast movement speed]

Skills
Armors - 8
Axes - 5
Swords - 0
Earth Magic - 5
Fire Magic - 0
Spellcraft - 0

Resists
Fire - 11
Cold - 14
Poison - 14
Shock - 11

Other
Health - 95
Mana - 55
Protection - 1
Evasion - 8
Max Load - 69kg

EDIT
Do note, the new Ranger class, that has both melee skills AND magic, does NOT have the glowing hands, and seems to REQUIRE a mage staff to cast spells

All taken from starting solo, not moving and inch

Seems the game had one last secret after all =D

yes he can cast with a mage weapon. i gave him a staff and he'll cast poison

Just started a new game. Hard/Oldschool Toorum.

Wish me luck.

Right now I've not done much with Toorum I'm sort of debating. Fire Mage build or Axe and Armor?

The weight limits make me want to go the mage route with him. But not sure about how rage inducing the lack of defense is going to be. Even with Lurker armor I foresee him being vary vary squishy.

I was thinking - you know all those caved-in hallways throughout the game, where the map still looks like you can travel past them?

Since Toorum went through the dungeon before the other parties did, maybe those hallways won't be caved in, if he's quick. Maybe he moves quickly so he can race to those cave-ins. I figure there's got to be something cool there.

Or did someone already figure out what is in the caved-in areas?

Was a very good idea Tyroie.

Does Toorum still get the earthquakes?

When I finish my hardmode playthru I may make a Normal Toorum run - In old school for the achievement ;)

I'd prob go Axes to max then a bit in armors using the lurker set, and just aim not to get hit at all, he's so fast so if you get hit during a normal 1v1 combat you are doing something wrong.

Pitty he couldn't take missle weapons, he's a ranger isn't he? last I checked rangers used bows :p
