Due to popular request if you preorder or have already preordered the game directly from us, in addition to the steam key you will get access to the standalone installer when the game is released on April 11th. You can get the installer on April 11th from the download page link that is mailed to you when you made the pre-order, so make sure you hold on to the mail if you want to use the standalone version!

Please spread the word :)
If...I go ahead and "pre-order",you guys won't take the money out of my bank account...until it actually releases(the day---of)....right?

Wat? No we won't take the money out of your bank account because that would be stealing but your credit card provider might :)

I had posted a question, and it seems to have ---gone south. My question...was, IF I pre-order this game, right now...Will you guys take the money out---right away;or,wait until this game is actually ready and available for down-load within/around April 11???
For...me , this is important,and I'd like an answer,please.
Joe
P.S.: I understand that my credit/debit will be charged. But, as with Amazon.com. They---don't take the money...until the actual product is there...and ready to ship. And---that's with "any" pre-order...no matter what it is.

oh .. if this had been earlier possible, i'd have bought it from you to support you the best i could..

but well ... from all the posts on these forums and gog's forums .. it seems you are getting rich anyway :-)....and i love to support gog.com too, so it's all right i guess :-)

----

one question though:

Those who buy it directly from you. They effectively get 2 games for 1 price, doesn't they? I mean, you could use the standalone installer for yourself and give the steam key to another?

it's no problem with me. but does it make sense for you? selling-wise?

No, that's not at all true, at least it's not anymore true than saying "anyone who buys it from GOG get's infinite copies to give to whoever they choose".

What you are buying is a single license to the game, what you are being given is several avenues to install that game.

Piracy will or won't occur regardless of how this is distributed. The best thing a developer can do is provide a solid product at a fair price point while presenting good customer service; in all areas I'd say Almost Human is delivering fantastically.

I'm so impressed with the price point and the level of customer interaction I've seen from them that I'm strongly considering buying 2 copies myself, which is essentially the opposite of your concern (and I'd guess I'm not alone). Outside of that, it's a very safe bet that PC gaming friends of mine might end up with a gift or two in the form of LoG as well.

Thanks again, guys, very excited about this game. April 11th can't come soon enough.

The Humble Bundle (most popular indie game bundle) usually gives at least Steam and standalone, if not Desura and other services too, this is no different. It's always easy to pirate, but it's YOUR copy, and yours only.

When you place the preorder and pay with a credit card, your credit card will be charged. When you pay your credit card bill, the money will be deducted from your bank account. Does this answer your question?
