Why not? If it is simply a case of having some settings people can change I don't understand why that is such an issue for you. If you don't want the game to change, you could just ignore those settings and the game would be identical for you as it is now. You would be completely unaffected in any way.
As has been explained to YOU specifically ad-freaking-infinium, having the devs add 50 special little tweaks for the 5-8 habitual whiners on this board would take the dev's time away from creating things that EVERYONE wants like the map editor, expansions, or a sequel.
But of course you'll just ignore me again and continue copy/pasting your 'I can;t imagine your problem! It doesn't affect you' nonsense.

Production costs and QA costs.
For example some people would like randomized dungeons with randomized puzzles (whatever that means). While on the surface it will still be just "some settings" to the user, the real implementation of such a request will be HUGE.
Curunir wrote:Cryo has a point, I'm afraid. Opening the door to argument about what can be done to adjust any game to a certain playstyle or player skill level means creating an infinite number of tweaks.
The game already has options to adjust to players who want a more casual experience or players who don't find it fun to click through weapon and spell slots at the speed of light - it's called Easy difficulty. There's also the option for hardcore old gits called Hard difficulty. I play on Normal because I'm an average Joe who likes dungeon crawls.
The devs have said, in this thread (and elsewhere), that they welcome feedback from everyone, and that the game isn't aimed at any particular type of gamer. I don't think any player should be disagreeing on the devs own forums and trying to prevent that exact feedback.
If it is acceptable to alter the gameplay as far as fighting (and make it almost irrelevant on easy), but not to give the option to give a few puzzles a wee bit more time? The game is about both fighting and puzzle solving. If you can user customise the difficulty of one, why not the other if it doesn't significantly alter game balance? I'd say making mobs easy to kill alters game balance (esp with some traps etc) way more than an extra second or two on a timed puzzle.

Some ideas would be more complex than others - I understand that - I'm a coder and hubby runs his own software dev company. As i've said it appears all the timing stuff is in there already - it wouldn't necessarily be that hard or time consuming to implement. Maybe it would. Thats for the devs to decide, not players. We can suggest tho, as they have asked us to.

Why? There is always going to be something that precludes someone using or enjoying a product. Saying that something needs to have options to mitigate this is the worst sort of PC short sightedness.
Should it be made free for the poor? Or voice controlled for people with no hands? Should it require only "push space to proceed" to the intellectually handicapped? If your statement is true then it needs to include EVERYONE regardless of limitation.
Pipsissiwa sums up my point pretty well.
I hate say this again, but you are 35 years old, it is time you started acting your age.
antti says that this game was not designed for "certain types of people" and that they are welcome to all sorts of feedback.
This debate should have ended there, but you ignored his post and continued.

You understand this would lead to a forum swamped in "Game too hard, please add Toddler mode" and "Puzzles too annoying, you worked on Max Payne, so plz more bullet-time".
Do I want this implemented before I see an editor? No, and I believe lots of people don't as well. So we're posting our evil oppressive posts.

The only habitual whiner seems to be you. And a dev has very politely asked you not to, yet you continue.
The devs have ASKED for feedback and suggestions/ideas. So flaming us for doing just that makes no sense. It just shows an enormous disrespect for AH who have made this amazing game that you clearly love as much as all of us. Its completly up to the devs if they ignore us or concentrate soley on future products.
Plus if you suggest the devs just concentrate on a map editor or sequel and not change this game, isn't that feedback just the same as us suggesting changes to this game?
And I send you commant right back at you Cryo:
"We're just telling you what we think of your feedback. If you have the right to express your opinions so do we."

The thing causing the issue is that you seem to think your opinion is greater than those who don't agree, and it seems greater than AH too. It isn't.
