A lot of the situations do require some sort of movement on your part. In that battle for instance I simply quickly moved and went to the other side of the room, right between the shrooms that where coming forward on both sides. The AI tends to line up the monsters on the same row as you, if you then go to 1 corner or the other, or even stay in the middle..just sidestep until you get them lined up. If not you have 3 rows and 2 enemies, there will always be an empty row to dodge to, and avoid attacks. Just avoid getting one beside you that will block you in by moving in front of it..

SO you will find that you are fighting only 1 instead of 2 at this point. Now all that is required is to simply dance side to side..HIt them, and sidestep. You will find you are doing much more damage to them than they are doing to you.

Fighting around the mobs takes a little practice, but it's ultimately not that hard, just practice it. You can;t win the game by standing tow to toe with things, you simply cannot advance that way.

You know, honestly, I too would have preferred a turn-based crawler, I'm more of a Wizardry fan than a Dungeon master fan, but this is the game the devs wanted to make.

I'd suggest you keep trying, but if you aren't enjoying yourself I don't suppose there's a reason to continue.

Regomar, you really are severally lacking in common sense. You just don’t get it do you? For some reason, even here and now with this guy telling the devs that he’s having issues because of limitations on himself, and you because you are so self indulged just can’t fathom that there are certain issues that are hard for people. Instead of clamoring on about how great you are. How about showing some compassion for those who are not as fortunate.

Standing patiently in the cloud still require (the complete lack of) player reaction. Like when you actually go away from your PC.
I actually got wasted by getting cornered and being in a poison cloud. And no, I didn't leave my computer. This was on easy. =)

While it's obviously cheating: Slowing the game down with the developer console might help you with the reflexes issues.

Given the time that it takes a mob to simply decide to attack you on Easy -- I still find it hard to believe. Unless you were STANDING in a corner (and in a cloud) fighting one herder while waiting for the other one to come and block you. The room is 3x<something> big, and all you have to do is NOT stand in a corner.

If you get unlucky with the timing, or not quite fast enough, you can end up with herders to two sides so all you can do is move to the corner, and if the herder on that side happens to walk in front of you then, you're sorta screwed.

I nearly lost one of my lower-health characters to that even being usually pretty good at these.

Remember: up to that point, on easy, you don't have to dance around *anything*. So it came as a surprise. Yes, I was standing in a corner, in a poison cloud.

I totally need to go try on easy and see how it's different. Do we have any really detailed lists of what changes the difficulty levels make?
