Same here! I love being able to see just a little of what's in the distance. That was a big appeal to DM, all the mystery and discovery, along with the puzzles that showed up. Grimrock gets that right (cliche alert!) 110%. And beyond DM, we get to look move our heads and see just a little more... very sneaky design.
I'd take one of the four wooden clubs I was carrying and just bash open doors with it.
