You cannot enter the spells fast enough to run into any cool down period. I have never had a spell not ready to fire in battle as soon as I entered it.
How 'bout you stop being an idiot because the "Herp derp, don't play" bullshit isn't cute, doesn't lend any credibility to your argument and makes you look the fool. And for your information, there is a cooldown on all actions, when you're mage's attack window/pane/things go dark, that means the character is cooling down, and you can't open the rune interface until the cooldown period is over. And no it wouldn't hotkeys would just change the type of action you have to do to cast spells, moving from mouse driven to keyboard driven spellcasting. It would work identical to spellcasting now, complete with rune selection and player skill components. If that "ruin[s] the game" then it's already ruined, because nothing substantial will have changed.

Don't even do this. You are the only one biting peoples heads off over simple ideas.

I like the game the way it is too, but it doesn't mean I'm not open minded to new ideas. Same goes for everyone else.

Not a chance that will happen. WHo in the heck also want s to look down at there keyboard to fire off spells. instead of keeping there eyes on there screen. Manipulating a key board is going to be even harder for people with dexterity problems. Very very dumb idea....

Sigh :(

There you go again telling people what they think. I'm glad all the people with interface difficulties have you here to tell everybody what they think.

Actually I don't agree with them (broadly)- I just don't think you speak for everybody.

Do you realize how pathetic you are making yourself look right now?

You said you were waiting, what, 15-20 years for this game? I'm gonna assume you are an adult. It's time you started to act like one.

Wait, bugs?

I thought you said you didn't think the game needed any changes.

They were also talking about adding modding support. My guess is that they will, over time, make substantial changes to enhance the engine, offer more choices, and offer a greater variety of UI experiences.

No there's no chance it will happen because the game would be unable to determine which character you were controlling with the keyboard without even more extensive changes. And most people that use the keyboard extensively don't actually look at it instead going off of memory. Moreover, dexterity isn't really used when using a keyboard interface, flexibility is, but flexibility isn't dexterity.

I know lots of people who can type much, much, better than they can mouse. Imagine that they did something like, say, KP1-KP9 go to first character's runes, then shift/ctrl/alt go to the other three characters. A lot of people could bang out spells like that WAY faster than any of us can mouse.
