Does the game client check for updates on its own?

I'm using the standalone version purchased directy through the humble store widget from almost human. Will my game tell me if there's an update and what the most recent version is?

I'm pretty sure adding "call home" functionality would aggravate most of the "non-drm" crowd.

There will not be any notifications with the standalone version so you'll have to get the updated version by yourself when they are released. We will, of course, let people know of the updates through Facebook, Twitter, forums and the blog.

The download will be available at the same Humble Bundle link you got the game from initially.

Later down the track is there a chance of making a game launcher that will have the options of launching game, lauching map editor (when it comes), check for update, etc?
