lvl 4 - your feet cannot carry you here fast enough

Im on level 4 (I think) and theres a lever which very briefly opens a teleport.

A sign nearby says that 'your feet cannot carry you here fast enough', and by jove, it turns out to be true.
Any help please?

Now I know that through a series of actions I can instead run off and open an iron gate to get a couple of loot items, but Im wondering if the teleport is solevable, or just a red herring?

Ive tried throwing things and firing crossbow into it, but Im all out of ideas as to how it can be used.

I also found a note saying something aout the way to open the iron gate is to take your time and rest in the dragons gaze. Theres a dragon statue nearby, but Ive waited there and also rested, but nothing happens

Pull the trigger, move to end of hallway where you can throw something down the hall to the plate(like the rock you find at the beginning of this area) AFTER you see the teleporter vanish. Which really, just throw your rock asap. The rock will land and open the gate. You can then run through the two gates. But you have to do it quickly! It's still a quick run, but the trick is to get the rock to sit on the plate after the teleporter vanishes.

The dragons are solved by finding the square where both dragons are looking(you'll find the other dragon after getting through this puzzle). Also, how did you get those other items? I'm stuck on that one.

Thanks for the help. It turns out Id already solved the puzzle, but I kept trying harder because I thought the teleporter played a bigger role

If its the items I think you're referring to, ignore the teleporter and the pressure pad. Just pull that lever and run to the 1x1 gate room (in the same room as the Dragon). If you're quick enough, youll slip inside and the door will shut behind you, but theres a button inside for you to escape.
