it saved my ass in a couple ambushes... it makes harder for enemies to detect "see" you... i was stuck in an ambush were too many were attacking me... got out thanks to darkness!

There is a puzzle which this spell helps alot and it isnt the maze.

You can use Darkness to suppress your Light spell prematurely.

The darkness spell also suppresses the Orb of Radiance, though you can also just put it in your backpack, so I guess it's still redundant.
