Very easy mode

Post by villdelfia »

Yesterday I made this exact same thread, and it got deleted for some reason, with no explanation.

As I said, my mom really wants to play the game as well, her dexterity with a keyboard and mouse isn't so great though.
So I would like a very easy mode, where the monsters hit like a wet noodle, perhaps with achievements disabled (if you care about those useless tokens of epeen).

I really don't get why you deleted the thread yesterday, it's not like I'm asking for something unreasonable... if you didn't package the data file I could just tweak the lua files to add it myself.

Weird, if I'd have deleted a thread, I'd have banned the author as well..

Anyway, another way to achieve what you want is to cheat the character skills, which is relatively easy using, for instance, artmoney memory hack tool. At your own risk, naturally.

All the addresses seem to be randomized. So that won't work.

Err, I already did what I suggested, so yes, it works. The skill pints are doubles.

There are dexterity based puzzles which require high precision movements. They consist of the player running around as quick as possible in a set pattern beating the timer(usually falling trap doors).

They are not affected by the difficulty setting at all, so your mother would have problems with them and be unable to beat the game.

How did you manage to find the right addresses? When I look up a particular skill I just find millions of addresses.

The way memory hack tools work is simply:
1. Find value
2. Change value in game
3. Filter with changed value
4. Repeat from 2. until only one address remains

Thanks for the help, that worked.

I searched for 0, leveled up, filtered for 4, spent one point, filtered for 3... until only 8 addresses remained, set them all to something ridiculous.
