Escape from Nightmare

Post by Khollik »

One night, four people are captured and dragged into a pit. They don’t know each other, they don’t know where they are, nor why they have been “chosen”. They are wounded, alone, and in the Dark. Now they must cooperate if they want to understand what happened to them and get out of this nightmare…

Light hearted beware!
Playing “hard difficulty” is fine, but I strongly discourage “iron mod” because healing crystals are scarce.
I also strongly discourage playing with an imported party because of the presence of custom spell and that would go against the background story.

Between 5 and 10 hour playing game.

This mod includes:
Over 20 levels and 30 secrets.
Custom spells: mass healing, unholy strength
Custom items and weapons: flashlight, sword of banishment, flamethrower, the “Warden” suit of armor and others...
2 alternate endings

*************************

Hello, I'm very pleased to announce that I've just finished to upload my new mod on nexusmod!

"Escape from Nightmare" was initially planned as a tribute to the Resident Evil series (sort of...) but meanwhile Iostsol released his excellent "Resident Grimrock", so I slightly changed the background story and some stuff.
This mod is thought as a rather linear indoor exploration mod (to reconnect with the atmosphere of LOG1). If you fancy a more open world (and longer) mod, you can also try http://www.grimrock.net/forum/viewtopic ... 23&t=18158

As usual, any feeback (bugs, typo or comments) are warmly welcomed!!

Thanks Torst! I hope you're having fun ;)

In this part of "Into Darkness", there are two things you should be aware of:
SpoilerShow
Did you notice the rooms seem symetrical here? Also, If you pay attention, you should see that some tiles of the floor glow slightly. Try without light if you can't spot them.
Solution:
SpoilerShow
the glowing tiles in the left room tell you where to put items on the tiles in the right room. You should be able to find something useful...

Hello Torst

I'd be glad to help you. I give you a hint and the solution for the "abandoned lab".

Hint
SpoilerShow
See the different "statues" in each corner of the room? They are your clues
Solution:
SpoilerShow
You must combine one rock, one bone (bone club), one torch (for the wood) and the magic note
The next riddle (presumably) in the "Ancient Hallways" can be frustrating, so I also give you the solution. Even I had to write it down to remember
SpoilerShow
You have to light the lantern only on the lines where there are daemon heads (noted "h" in the solution). As tedious as it may seem, the solution can be reached with only 5 moves. Assuming up is North and down is South, you have to make those moves:
1/Cross the room in the middle from N to S.
____h____
h X 1 X h
__X 2 X__
h X 3 X h
____h____

2/ One move on the East side
X X 1

3/ One move on the West side
1 X X
At this point, only the central lantern should be lit.

4/ One move on the North Side
X 1 X

5/ One move on the South Side
X 1 X
et voilà!

Hi, Did you reach the sign at the center of the Maze of It? That is your clue

Solution
SpoilerShow
The answer is litteraly under your nose ;) In the maze, there are three paved ways drawing figures which are the number of times you have to activate the levers:
3 (in the left part of the maze)
2 (upper right)
5 (lower right)
By the way, I really like your avatar image :P even if I never finished that game. I used to play it as a child and english not being my first langage, we didn't really understand the backstory, but really like the multiparty system, the exploration and the huuuuge map.
