There are the two that inspired them...

Dungeonmaster, and Eye of the Beholder. ;)

Additionally... There are a few others, like Stone Prophet, and Menzoberranzan.
(Of the two, Stone Prophet would be my recommendation. Menzo is okay, and has an impressive sound track, but its maps are fairly bland.)

I liked https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arx_Fatalis
But I don't know if it's a game for this day and age, because the premise is global cooling.

And I hope the OP isn't a bot.

Arx is fantastic... and an unofficial [unlicensed] successor to Ultima Underworld.

There are undocumented spells in the game that can be deduced by the meanings of the various rune stones; combined to discover the hidden spells. There is even an Underworld spell—that causes a retro graphical appearance.

ALSO: There is Arx-Libertatis. 8-)

Realms of Arkania has always been my jam.
ROA1 is a bit dated. But ROA2 is amazing. ROA3 is also great. But ROA2 is probably my favorite... these games influenced me in terms of how I even do D&D as a Dungeon Master... a lot of my worlds I've created for D&D were heavily inspired by Realms of Arkania.
And to be clear, I mean the originals...
There have been remakes of ROA1 and ROA2. I played the remake of ROA1 and didn't enjoy it.

Here's where you can get the originals:
ROA1 & 2: https://www.gog.com/game/realms_of_arkania_1_2
ROA3: https://www.gog.com/game/realms_of_arkania_3

Or if you prefer Steam:
ROA1: https://store.steampowered.com/app/2676 ... y_Classic/
ROA2: https://store.steampowered.com/app/2707 ... l_Classic/
ROA3: https://store.steampowered.com/app/2707 ... a_Classic/

They're different than you standard "Dungeon Crawl"... but so freaking great.
