OK, I've left the last chalice and activated the teleport in the castle, but before using it I looked again at the castle. The two doors that won't open and the large unused map area say that there is more here. The torches are the only actionable items i can find, and they don't seem to do anything in any combination of lit and unlit that I have tried. Is there enything here, or should I just teleport out?

Hmmm. In the swamp I find I need a dead rat and some gold ore. Can i get those here or do I need to go back to a savegame to get them in previous levels? I have not seen gold ore anywhere. Have I missed completing something essential earlier on?

There are ingredients that you do not find in the swamp. If you do not have them, don't go back - it's all optional (except of the blue gem of course).

I have certainly found the swamp a challenge with no map. I've never tried to do grimrock without the automap, and it sure is harder when you have to draw it up as you go. The vitality sapping flames got me too. I misread the caption saying the energy gain was negative, and so stood in the flames thinking I was gaining. The next fight was an eye opener. Would you believe I got through the herders with negative vitality, but couldn't cope with the plant. That was when I actually looked at vitality. And now the problems. I got a "secret found" notification, but despite digging, couldn't find anything, unless the potion and spear a little further on are it. And more importantly, I can't work out how to get through the krinkly force field. I've tried the figures both in the circle and on the mushroom pedestal, but they don't do the trick. How do I proceed?

Yeah - the swamp is challanging... Tasks getting harder the further you go on in the game...

Have you found the map of the swamp? It will tell you a hint how to vanish the force fields.

Do you mean back in a previous level? If so, which level of savegame do I need to go back to?
