Hmm. Dealt with the upstairs but can't see what to do with the travelling spark puzzle. I've moved on to the forest and am struggling with the spiders. I have left the herders in possession of the mushroom field after getting as many healers as were there. (Returning found the field packed with them, so no way forward through here if you take the healers.)

Mmh - ...

Some others reported also, that there are too many herders appearing. Maybe I have to check the mechanic again.

Usually there should pop up a bigger variety of them - but nothing not solvable.

Good luck for your further investigations. - Next week I am in Berlin and it could be, that I cannot respond immediately to your posts. But please stay tuned...

I'm really stuck now. I can't get past those herders. I've tried several starts and can't stop the spawning. Skipping them and going to the spiders, I can't even kill one beefore my party dies when the four drop down to surround me. Do the branches have a significance here. I await your return from the capital for enlightenment. My name is Terry by the way.

Hi Terry.
The branches are just stuff one can find in a forest...

Sadly there's no special trick to beat the herders or the spiders. You can avoid summoning herders if You leave all the mushrooms where they are. Or pick them up just one by one...

Maybe you have to go back to an older savegame?

For the spiders - mmh....

Noone before told me that he could not beat them. Even they are tough for sure. Maybe you have to choose your path more carefull? Try to ceep clear your back...

Thanks Thom. I've actually gone back to the Wizard library and found out more. I'll make another run at the forest when I can't get any more from there. Do you have any hints on what the 4 pieces of apparatus are for or where to use them? I mean the globe, telescope, timepiece and "apparatus".

In the wizard's library, I did something (I don't know what) that gave me a room with 3 cowled hunters, which I have dealt with, and I can see that some of the lower blue switches lower and raise wall sections over 2 of the corridors. I can't see what the top blue switches do, unless they opened the corridor with the 3 slimes. There hasn't been a way to redirect the light pulses to hit the receiver that I presume is their target. Did turning the floor plates on have something to do with opening the room with the crystal shard or should I be looking for something else?
I have done quite poorly in the various gardens. All I managed was to kill the snakes and do the maze.

I can't deal with the spiders. Even using every asset, the fact that they surround me means that my party are all dead before I can kill even one to create a gap to get out. Perhaps my party members are not strong enough but I have made a lot of attempts with no suggestion of a way through. It looks as if this is the only way to advance to get the blue crystal that I assume is needed. i left the mushroom field as a seething mass of herders, but it didn't look as if there was a way through there anyway. Unless there is some other way, I guess that is it. thanks for the experience. i've enjoyed what I could do a lot.
