Will LoG files be easily accessed to make a translation?

Post by lostprophet »

I'm translating games from English to my native language, and I'm just curious, will the texts be in an easily modifiable file or we'll need some kind of program to access them? I'm hoping for the first
Anyway, I just pre-ordered the game too, so on 11th April I'll know :)

There is an opportunity to start full-scale translation into Russian. Is there a way to get access to do this? I could do it with my friends - fans this is genre of games.

Well, we'll see on 11th April or we'll have to wait, until the game becomes more moddable overtime.

Unfortunately the game does not support localization at the moment.

Thank you, I'm sad to hear, but hopefully it'll change in the future :)

Yep, it's possible that we'll add localization support at some point but our todo list is pretty long as it is :)

Well, we now have some access to the files, and I could modify some texts, but as it is, it's a pain in the... back. The game reads from external files, so luckily there's no need to repack the modified files back into the huge .dat file. Sadly they are in compiled .lua files, which can only be (at this point) edited through hex. We've got the fonts too, but they have to be edited with Photoshop to have any kind of country specific characters.

Hopefully the devs will provide us with an easier way of doing the localizations
