Herder's name?

So, the Herder mushroom creatures. When I first heard their name, I thought it was appropriate since it sounds like "Hurr durr", and they ARE pretty dumb...

Lol, is the caretaker the untextured creature from the 001 build that kind of makes those noises when it attacks?

That's one of the first sketches I made for this game. We were brainstorming monsters and creatures and one of the ideas was about a some kind of not so bright creature that grows mushrooms and takes care of them. One thing led to another and in the final design the creature and mushroom merged. And yes, the Herder name came from that "hurr durr".
