Takes a whole 1.32 seconds. Ohhhhhh nooooooooo.
How long and how tedious are two very different things. Esc, Save, Overwrite, Confirm name is VERY tedious, and could definitely do with a simple F5 (or whatever quicksave key).

Wow, people. Are you really trying to convince others that they, the others, are not in fact inconvenienced?

Hitting the Escape key, clicking on Save Game, selecting a save and confirming the overwrite may only take a few seconds, but it distracts from the game. It's much easier to hit F5. Nobody here is trying to optimize for time, instead people are trying to optimize for convenience. A qucksave is convenient, that's why people decided that it was a good idea when it was first invented.

If you don't need or don't want it - great! Don't use it then. It's cool. But why you try to explain to others that they don't need it - is beyond me.

Yes, but it's not so much an autosave as it is a "Save when you click a Crystal thingy". It doesn't autosave when changing levels or based on a timer, only that crystal.

Exactly, it really breaks the flow and brings you out of the game, mentally.

If you don't want to use it, cool. But don't try to ruin it for the rest of us.
