Suggestion: Redistributing skillpoints at level up

Post by bondy034 »

Hoping maybe the devs can quick patch this one in - what i really want is the option to remove newly added skillpoints during the levelup screen, my mouse slipped and I accidently clicked the wrong skill, only to find out i can't remove it... :( would be nice for a way around this...

Why not just load a previous save and try again?

I think programming something like this would make the game a little too flexible for players.

Agreed..not woth the dev time for a small team. Save before putting in points so you can correct mistakes.

I hear ya, but always save on level... and I am loving the old school/harcore-ness of this game.

Would be nice to have a "Confirm?" after you spend all your skill points. And it's easy to implement.

Totally unnecessary, and a waste of players' time. This like many of the other things being whined about on the forums was a design decision. They didn't just randomly decide these things. I blame world of warcraft - hotkeys for spells?!

Old ASCII games used hotkeys for EVERYTHING, because mice didn't exist.... Grimrock's mouse system is the opposite of old school in my personal opinion.

Yeah, that'd be nice.

I am against unlearning skills though.

How exactly does one forget how to be good with a sword, :)

What's all the fuzz about?

He's not talking (at least from how I understand it) about an option to re-distribute all spent skill points on your character. He only wants to be able to remove a skill point that he put into the wrong skill during the level-up process. What's the harm in adding a "confirm your level-up" message, or simply adding a - that appears next to a skill once you put a point in it, so you can remove the point again if you put it in there by accident, as long as you didn't close the level-up screen. It's not like it makes the game itself any easier.

I support this! :)
