level 6 - getting the orb.

I am in the hallway to the Vault of the Orb. When I step on the pressure plate, a field appears. I cannot get the portcullis to open, even when I drop a dagger on the pressure plate. I've seen videos where this is all that's needed to open the portcullis.

What am I missing? Thanks!

Perhaps you need to watch that video again. I'm pretty sure the player there didn't do what you did.
