finding food

I'm on level 6 with no food, nor can I find food anywhere. I haven't killed the ogre due to lack of food. I'm not fighting well due to starvation.

Is there a way or even a mod, to get food? Otherwise I'm stuck.

In the north of the level there is a room with infinitely respawning snails.
