I demand a sacrifice

End of Pillars of Light (lvl3) and in need of 2nd key to progress - tried the pits and can't see any other obvious puzzle from the one stated.

Anyone have the answer?

I just put some random item on the plate and pressed the button. Then some other item (can't remember what) spawned next to the pit.

There is a gate blocking the plate. Anywhere else I might find the second key? I've cleared all rooms I can reach, and the only gate I can't seem to open is blocking a hall in one of the pits with togglable teleports.

You can put some items through the grid, I used a spear. After pushing the button there was a message "secret found" and the key spawned on the floor. Maybe you need to "sacrifice" more then one item.

As the above person said, you just have to put something through the gate on the floor (i used a burned up torch), then hit the button. The stuff will spawn near you.

That worked great - wasnt aware I had to click on the ground behind the grate. Thank you!
