I've got a support ticket in on the Steam support site, but I thought I'd see if anyone here had the same problem.
I bought the game earlier today through Steam, downloaded it, and tried to run it, only I get a "grimrock.exe has stopped working". For the life of my, I can't figure out why it's not working. It's not even loading the opening screen or anything. To note, my video card is an ATI Radeon HD 2600 XT, but like I said, I'm not even at the point where I would know if it's a graphics problem, because the game won't even start.
Any thoughts?
Edit: Now it's saying that c:\Windows\System32\MSVCR100.dll is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error.
Well, I tried re-installing that .dll but it didn't seem to help.
Further edit: I found, in the steamapps/common/vcredist folder, a vcredist_x86 executable which installed the dll, and now I can play the game.
Strange, but true.

Re: Steam version will not run
I remember VCredist not being automatically installed along with the game was also a problem at the steam launch of ARES: Extinction Agenda. Maybe either steam or AH overlooked that this needs to be installed in order for the game to run.
