Level 7 Iron door minigame impossible to complete
Level 7 Iron door minigame impossible to complete
Hello, I bought this game a couple of days ago and have been enjoying it immensely. I enjoy the fact that it's difficult and doesn't forgive mistakes but the level 7 iron door puzzle is frustrating me immensely, as I am physically unable to move the character fast enough to block all the bolts. I've literally tried more than 20 times and always failed right before the end. From a quick google there are some other people with similar problems, and I was wondering if in a future patch that the challenge could be adjusted slightly for people whose reflexes aren't as lightning fast as other peoples, or who experience a weird and constant input lag when playing the game.

Isn't there a speed potion in the game.
Also standing at row of tiles directly in front of the pits may help a bit.
Also lowering graphics options may give you a bit extra responsiveness.
I skipped this door as well though, bit too much for me at the end, but i hear there may be hope yet... Will test on my next playthrough.

The speed potion only increases the cooldown on actions, and I've lowered graphics to the minimum the games engine will allow and still no luck. It's a shame because so many of the puzzles in this game revolve around finding ways other than brute force to solve puzzles and this one is purely twitch reflexes.

I had to try this many times before I managed to do it. It helps to memorize the sequence so you can move before you see the next bolt. It is doable.
Re: Level 7 Iron door minigame impossible to complete
Sometimes if you hold down the keys they get repeated when you don't want them to.
Therefore i did single clicks which the game executed properly and by this i solved this immediately where i struggled with holding down the keys before a couple of times. So instead of holding down the "step right" key until your party moves two fields to the right you better press the right key twice and watch how it gets exectued in a sequence and if needed add further move commands.

I too am having trouble with this one, frustrating isnt it, especially after beating(after soooooo many go`s the horrible Fire mage column puzzle).
Put it this way after trying at least an hour off and on (taking breaks going away do other stuff come back etc) this save file is now named
"Evil Shooter Bastard".
nuff said i think.
But i have noticed that my keys seem to be a bit squishy when trying these twitch based puzzles, its fine for combat etc but the problem is it seems that either it register a press or sticks and does two, or just doesnt seem to register at all, weird cos this puzzle is first where i have had the symptoms described by others in these forums.
Im not gonna blame a bug just gonna keep trying on my own but to all you suffering this kind of problem i now feel your pain

This puzzle is more about anticipation and pace than reflex. Try to focus on the next shot when you're steping in front of one.
You can also check this, it might helps you.

Lower the graphics settings if you haven't already, with even a bit of lag it can become impossible.

Took me around 100 tries! Here's my own thread about it,

In the end Myeka's tips helped me, you have to move BEFORE the blast dissipates, once you get used to it, this puzzle becomes far more possible.
That being said, it's not like the loot is especially amazing, leaving it wouldn't effect you overly. (I was really disappointed when I got in!)

A gently fried snail slice is absolutely delicious with a pat of butter...

It's a part of a set though, so for the people who value achievements this probably is extremely important. Speaking of sets, why do we have them yet no set bonuses of any kind (would make the sets more meaningful for those who don't care for achievements as much).Darklord wrote:That being said, it's not like the loot is especially amazing, leaving it wouldn't effect you overly.
