Re: Note to AH: Mac OS Catalina ended 32 bit support

Thanks for bringing this us, and sorry for the long delay!

I've just flagged the binaries to be 64-bit compatible on Steam, so the problem should go away once the Steam servers refresh the store page.

Re: Druidstone: The Secret of the Menhir Forest

We get asked this questions quite often :) Druidstone is developed by Ctrl Alt Ninja, who share many people with Almost Human. Almost Human is still alive but no new games are currently being developed under that label. It is possible that Almost Human returns with another game some day, but meanwhi...

Re: Druidstone: The Secret of the Menhir Forest

@Komag: thanks! :)

@eon: Thanks for the reference! Our top priority is to make the game as fun as possible to play. That said, graphical effects like in your example can make the game feel much more polished. Once we get past beta we can start concentrating on the graphics effect.

Re: Druidstone: The Secret of the Menhir Forest

Q about to the short 1st person scene at 0:24 to 0:26: is this a "possess creature" feature, similar to original Dungeon Keeper? Not quite. We highlight some important events on the battlefield with close-up camera shots. This brings a nice variety to the otherwise static top-down view. W...

Re: Druidstone: The Secret of the Menhir Forest

Re: permadeath. The game isn't a procedural roguelike anymore -- we changed the design about a year ago. So there's no restarting and losing hard-earned characters. At least not by default. We are considering having a mode similar to "insave ironman" with permadeath etc. for veterans and w...

Re: Waking Violet - I made a game!

Indeed! With all the engines available nowadays anyone can be a game developer, but finishing a project is a completely another matter requiring skill and perseverance! Congrats and good luck with the release!

Re: Texture and Modeling questions

Very nice explanation Minmay! Just one more thing: we usually avoid using DXT1 with alpha, because for DXT1 the color channel is interpreted to be black when alpha is zero. This results in dark fringe near zero alpha pixels, because texture filtering will still be affected by those black pixels. Thi...
