You need to complete about half of Desarune to get to Hamlet of Stormbreach.
It will not be easy and you might regret it when you get back to Forgotten River!

You can feed your party members anything you want. You can feed 1 cheese to a ratling followed by anything then more cheese until it has eaten 3 or 3 cheese in one go, it doesn't matter. The pendants are nice to have but only make a difference of 1 or 2 levels by the end. Easy to grind to those levels without the pendants. I wouldn't worry too much and just enjoy the game. On a serious note, there is a plate that it easy to miss.
You can just about see it through a gate but you have to throw something onto it from elsewhere.
