Re: Dual wielding

...About that compass. Does it serve any real purpose if you use maps in game? Or is it solely for those who make their own maps, so they can navigate through the dungeons?... The item description especially mentions 'old fashioned adventurers and explorers', so I would say, yes, purpose is only fo...

Re: saving...to much ?

I also just use crystal/autosave. The first time I find one, I make a manual 'security save', but from then on I always return to them, when I feel a save would be good - till I've found the next.
Hard/Old School (+ Disabled Damage Text/ Hidden Item Properties) and no map-drawing by hand.

Hehe, I instantly found the brick to click but missed that I can also click on the Runes to get a translation.
(but got suspicious, when I found the same inscription for 2 different times...)

Re: First impressions

Self made party, hard/old school, no hand-mapping till now. Played very careful for 2 hours, only saved for security in first room at starting location. Will try to reach next auto-save point. Have now the 2 blue gems for the door with the stone face. 2 Secrets found. Spent time to note the rune ins...

...And that is absolutely all right. Everyone can only decide for his own, how to get the most fun out of it.
There are those who want a challenge, and others who want avoid frustration. A good designed game can please both ends of the spectrum.

Re: Real-life Mystery Dungeon Crawling

Permadeath... exactly. But, when you come out alive again after such a trip, you get a feeling hard to describe. Better I warn you all again. DON'T do this kids. It IS stupid (...kind like playing russian roulette). :geek: Better play Legend of Grimrock. Keeps you out of a lot of potential shit. Gre...

Re: What difficulty will you be playing?

Exactly. This is the only way to get this 'I'm lost in a dangerous maze and have to go on... no matter what... '-feeling. http://p4.focus.de/img/gen/w/2/HBw2M7xg_Pxgen_r_300xA.jpg The Thread of Ariadne is your memory. To play with auto-map is just to make sure, that it can not rip. Rather gamey. :tw...

Re: Real-life Mystery Dungeon Crawling

Here in Thuringia, where I live, there seem to be no such Erdstall-tunnels. Never heard of it before at least. The local 'thrill' here is to try to get access in secret Nazi underground complexes from WW2. Have done it myself, when I was younger... and more stupid. (It's VERY dangerous, becau...
