Re: Whatever happened to Mac OS X and iOS ports of LOG?
ya i know its different meanings. But calling wine a emulator is like calling windows a great operating system... Dos box is a example of a emulator because it has to emulate old pc code instruction at the cpu level. The ironic part is With the definitions he gives Direct X itself is a emulator beca...

Re: Whatever happened to Mac OS X and iOS ports of LOG?
When users think of emulators, they think of programs like Dosbox or zsnes. These applications run as virtual machines and are slow, having to emulate each processor instruction. Wine does not do any CPU emulation - hence the name "Wine Is Not an Emulator." Some people argue that since Wi...

Re: Whatever happened to Mac OS X and iOS ports of LOG?
Thanks, that's my point, this qualifies wine as emulator. Translating several "windowish" things to linux syntax as this aspects are in no way native to a unix environment. Also, emulation/non-emulation can't be separated on the question of feature completeness.
its not a emulator....

Re: Whatever happened to Mac OS X and iOS ports of LOG?
Nope. Wine originally meant "WINdows Emulator". "Wine Is Not an Emulator" appeared later.
The name Wine initially was an acronym for WINdows Emulator. Its meaning later shifted to the recursive backronym, Wine Is Not an Emulator in order to differentiate the software from...

Re: [Linux] Would grimrock work on my PC?
Unfortunately Legend of Grimrock doesn't work under Windows with my graphics card. Do you think it might work under Linux. BTW I've just noticed [Linux] in the title of this thread. I preordered Grimrock almost a year ago and I can't play it. Changing laptop is not an option in my case right now:((...

Re: Whatever happened to Mac OS X and iOS ports of LOG?
No problem  Just always find it amusing to read about mac and linux limitations.. people posting they so love their macs while in the same post describing how they had to "emulate" this or that on some windows emulator (wine it's called I believe)... I mean, just get a pc... it's che...

Re: Screen Resolution Cut Off and Triple Image
Tried to read though everything you were writing holy crap you did alot of troubleshooting i commend you for it. I have had the same issue with using 3 HP 32 inch 1920x1080p monitors. As far as the window resolutions cutting off its ether a software glitch in LOG or a issue with the nvidia driver if...
