Re: Paid Mods on Steam Workshop - A Discussion
Two things about the 'Patreon' system: 1. In the end it's just a different name for crowdfunding, wether you call it Kickstarter, Early Access, Patreon or something else doesn't make a difference. I think all kind of crowdfunding platforms have the same problem: it ends up well in some cases and it ...

Re: Paid Mods on Steam Workshop - A Discussion
The question is what you think modding is. 'Paid mods' are no mods to me, I think 'user-created DLC' would be a more appropriate term. You won't get more modders, you will get more 'DLC creators'. And personally I doubt there will be as many free mods as you believe. Sure, for small mods most people...

Re: Paid Mods on Steam Workshop - A Discussion
The question is - why does every single thing in this world has to be about money? Is that really necessary? Modding was a labor of love. I know, that sounds cheesy. But it is the truth. Now you will get some (few) higher quality mods, but it will be something you buy just like anything else. Whethe...

Re: Paid Mods on Steam Workshop - A Discussion
I would have paid you a small fee for your Asian Tileset, Phitt. Sorry to hear that you are opposed to this, but I really don't think things will be as bad as you say. Just look at the market for Phone App's. From my point of view, Steam is very late in the game in allowing people to charge for Mod...

Re: Paid Mods on Steam Workshop - A Discussion
To me this is the worst thing that ever happened to PC gaming. Modding is the one reason why I love(d) PC gaming so much and I think if paid mods become the norm we won't have nice modding communities like this one anymore. And it's not just that I think we should all do it for the love of the game ...

Re: [Asset Final] Mine Tile Set by: Phitt
Nope, as it is a Grimrock 1 tileset. It should be pretty easy to adjust though if anyone feels like it since there is wood on the bottom and the top of each wall tile.Granamir wrote:Does this set works for map height more than 1?

[Tileset] Asian style dungeon
Since I'm quite busy in real life I'm not sure I will be able to finish the mod I had in mind. But since I've already done quite a lot of work I decided to release what I have now before it's too late (that was the initial plan yesterday already...). The first thing I'll release is an asian themed d...

Re: neo-goth industrial set and more
Originally I had written a long answer, but I decided not to post it. If this is the sad state the Grimrock modding community is in then I don't want to be a part of it.

Re: neo-goth industrial set and more
So the pic of your Avatar on this forum is of a cute little monkey.[...] I think I explained very well why it can become quite a problem for every single modder who wants to release a mod publicly and makes use of these assets without knowing they're ripped from (even very popular) commercial games...
