Re: Level 9 riddle HINTS

With the sound OFF?!? That's a very bad choice! Sound is a lot of times the only hint you get to things happening off-screen! Yes, I learned that the hard way trying to solve the time & tide puzzle, but still keep forgetting to check - as in this instance. It's not entirely my choice - I play a...

Re: Level 9 riddle HINTS

When the right item is placed in an alcove you will hear a click so you'll know it's what was asked for. Ah right, thanks. I often play with the sound off and hadn't noticed so that's helpful. No, at least not that I'm aware of. IMO it's homage to a similar puzzle in Dungeon Master. Harsh! I don't ...

Level 9 riddle HINTS

Hi, Toward the end of level 9 there is a locked door and four alcoves with a riddle next to each. Frankly, I'm stumped by this as there don't seem to be any clues from the context as to what's required. Managed to get this far without needing solutions for any of the core puzzles, so I'm looking for...

Re: Optimal settings for GT640M

Here you go :-) http://www.amazon.co.uk/Antec-NOTEBOOK-COOLER-200-Notebook/dp/B001GMR6T4/ref=tag_stp_s2_edpp_url Maxing out your RAM wouldn't hurt neither. Thanks. I didn't realise it was such a big deal with laptops. Silly really as it's pretty obvious when you think about it. I have maxed out RAM...

Re: Optimal settings for GT640M

[quote="badhabit" I think >=30fps (at least) is recommended/required. I played LoG also around 15-25fps and hat problems too with some timed puzzles and was unable to solve the last iron door puzzle at all .[/quote] Thanks for that. Bit disappointing my shiny new rig can't quite cope with ...

Re: Optimal settings for GT640M

Great, thanks.

Running in full resolution & everything on "high" results in about 15fps. Setting everything to medium, still full resolution results in 30fps.

What's an "acceptable" fps for play? What should I be aiming for?

Optimal settings for GT640M

Hi, I installed Grimrock on my new laptop. It's an i7 2.2 with 16GB of RAM and a GT 640M video card with 2GB of RAM. Not a rig I'd expect to play the latest shooters at top framerates and resolution, but pretty respectable. And had expected it to run Grimrock without issue. The game defaulted to max...

Re: level 3 HINTS

EDIT: Got them both now. You're on the right track, though perhaps you need to think of a more efficient way of doing it. From what I recall I had a good half second to spare. Then again, what's your FPS? If it's really low, you might have to tune down your video settings. I haven't checked the fram...

level 3 HINTS

Hi, Just got to the teleport puzzle on level 3. I've partly figured it out at least but ... .. Having got the central trapdoor closed, and found the pressure plate that opens the portcullis, I can't seem to get through it in time before the item is teleported off the plate and the portcullis closes....

Re: Grimrock Reviews

Late to the bandwagon, but after buying Grimrock in the Steam Sale recently I gave it a brief review - along with some of my other purchases - here:

Grimrock is toward the end, because I saved the best until last :)
