Re: Customization of Race, Class, and Traits.
Thanks for the thoughts and discussion, I guess it is best for me to stay put and be patient. It's just that the games with high flexibility on modding (Such as Mount & Blade, TES III+) are often driven continuously by the community and grow even when the development stopped. I actually recentl...

Re: Save editor
I am having difficulty with adding skill points with this editor. If I directly add the skillpoints to the skill, the bonuses for those skills don't show up in the stats. If I add unused skillpoints (I add the same value to both double values below it) it says I need to level up, but there aren't a...

Re: Customization of Race, Class, and Traits.
Don't hold your breath on this... unless the devs re-word their modding guidelines, this cannot be the kind of modding that is distributable. In order to mod anything related to classes, items, races, attributes, and spells, you would need to go into some of the vanilla game files, alter them, and t...

Re: Dungeon Editor Progress
Fair enough, Isaac... thanks for the discussion about this. You play "devil's advocate" very well. :) Maybe the devs will see our debate about this, and re-think their stance on modding this game. They really don't have anything to lose by relaxing a bit and letting us post up edited asset...

Re: Dungeon Editor Progress
Bethesda is sue-happy if one is a big enough fish, and they have closed down modders that they thought were good enough to pose a risk. They also have rules to prohibit the use of their assets in their own games; though the common rule is just not to cross mod their games; ie. no Oblivion rats in F...

Re: Dungeon Editor Progress
It's a good chance that they will use the editor on one of their next projects. I will assume that they had their reasons for the rules they chose; and assume that the reasons are still a concern to them. By 'walk away', I don't mean from the Grimrock IP, I mean from Legend of Grimrock 1. I can tel...

Re: Dungeon Editor Progress
I understand why the devs want these kind of rules in place, of course, but the strictness of a few of these rules will not foster the development of a thriving mod community. If they relax their stance on edited assets and the distribution of such, then it will go a long way towards building a bet...

Re: Dungeon Editor Progress
Come on guys, please stop those fancy creative ideas with game file patching, texture blending etc... trust me, this willg not work. And I don't mean technically. What I mean is: It will work for a minor number of modders, but it will not support and vitalize a real modding community, which is a bi...

Re: Soloing Grimlock with the savegame editor
My pleasure, sir. :) Although, after messing around with playing this game on solo for a while, I have to admit that it IS quite a bit different from the standard party of four (duh?)... obviously, you are in more peril -- as all of your eggs are in one basket, so to speak. What I really mean is tha...
