Re: Torchlight Crawlers
I can't comment much on the history, but I want to say two things. 1. Turn-based dungeon RPGs like Wizardry and Might&Magic (the older series) appeal to me more than "torchlight crawlers." Real-time combat often takes away from the puzzles. Since it's annoying to try to solve puzzles w...

Re: pick up
The object has to be close enough; left-click the object to grab it. Your party can reach whatever is on their tile plus whatever is on the "near edge" of adjoining tiles. (I'm not sure about diagonals but I think you can only reach what is on the "near corner" of diagonal tile.)...

Re: Uninstalled It
Oh, I see. Yes, it was intended as a rhetorical question.
I do agree the puzzles don't need to be made easier.

Re: 2x2 strafing undermines character building [edited]
So yeah, I can kinda see how the Dungeon 2-Step can be seen as game-breaking, since it makes it easy to put yourself in a position where the enemy is incapable of attacking you 90% of the time, completely negating the need for a lot of defensive boosts. "Fixing" this would require some dr...

Re: Character damage display complaint
UI behavior I found annoying:
- As mentioned, damage display covers too much stuff.
- Damage/healing display is delayed until spell menu is closed - misleading.
- Spell menu covers up health/magic gauges - too much menu management.

Re: Uninstalled It
I only had big problems with two of the timing-related puzzles. The first was level 6, the worst pit puzzle. I think I tried that one 30 times before finally getting it. The second was the 3 firing statues puzzle, I forget which level but it was made impossible by my overburdened party! Once their p...

Re: Favorite old school RPG's
Dungeon Master - not my favorite game but a nice one. I rented this a few times and always got stuck at the "fireball door" if you know what I mean. Probably a simple puzzle, but when the cart had to be returned in 3 days this stuff was annoying. Skullkeep - Multi-level machine being perio...

Yeah after running out of rocks I found a use for the loincloths on my next party.
Keep useless lightweight junk on one of your characters, then you always have something to leave on a plate.

It's a very picky teleporter!
Just like a few special floor plates that won't trigger if you pile all your party's belongings on them, but will trigger just fine the moment your cloth-wearing mages step on them.
