Re: Which did you prefer, Grimrock 1 or 2?
I see the devs still haven't addressed any of the concerns of myself or others for this game since the last time I was here, roughly half a year ago or longer. That's a real shame, as I'd like to recommend this game to my friends and colleges, but can't support a game the devs have abandoned since t...

Re: Food and Puzzles don't mix
This conversation reminds me of my argument on health/hit points in sandboxed video games, such as Super Mario Bros. You can never actually "die", so why have a health system at all? You go from big, to small, to dead, but when you "die", you just restart the level from your last...

Re: Beta 2.1.18
***FINAL COMMENTS: And the rapier not being dex based is ridiculous! Have you ever used one IRL? They are used for fencing, which requires finesse and guile over brute strength. Minor nit really. The modern fencing foil is a descendant of the rapier, but it's one designed for modern (nonlethal) spo...

Re: Beta 2.1.18
Sorry I was away for so long. I had surgery for a hernia and have been on my back most of the week. Anyway, long story short, I read most of the comments and saw where you and that other fellow got a bit heated. I'd like to just stick with our conversation on the issue before all that if that's alri...

Re: Beta 2.1.18
Bottomline: it's one of two extremes for you: "I cannot recommend this game until these issues are addressed" or "A game that only comes around once in a lifetime." Alright, I see what you’re getting at. I suppose in my opinion piece, I did paint the subject as, "if these i...

Re: Beta 2.1.18
Regarding your Lurker Lounge post: why didn't you just post "LoG2 sucks"? It would literally have said the same as your little tidbit which tells nothing positive about the game; it's just one big bash. Because I don't feel the game sucks at all; my critique is/was based solely on balance...

Re: Beta 2.1.18
Thanks for your attempt, using your anecdotal analogous references, to try and convince me how my opinion is flawed - it really made an impression on me  . I wrote a small tidbit here on my opinion of the game in its current state: Link ; for those challenged to follow links: Also been playing ...

Re: Beta 2.1.18
When are some of the balance issues going to be addressed? I haven't heard a word from any dev regarding balance issues and in LoG1, I don't recall any balance changes being implemented once the game was released. I should mention this game is stellar, but other than the first time I played it for s...

Re: Is anyone else not enjoying this as much as the original
In all honesty, I'm also enjoying GR2 much more than GR1, although, as presented by my "balance" topic, I feel there is still room for improvement within the current system.

Re: Legend of Grimrock 3
Definitely tile based but how about an octagonal grid that would allow diagonal movement. This +1 ! Truth be told, while side-stepping enemies is not part of the "strategy" of battling monster in the LoG series, having octagonal squares would eliminate this "feature" and make co...
