Sounds like a primitive GPS system.
What I tend to do after a teleport is scout the area to see if it joins the main map...If not remap the area in its own section. If it does join, then remap it from the join.

Re: My negative impressions and suggestions
I didn't take it personally at all. I was merely commenting that I feel Grimrock is pretty much a complete game. One that works well. Maybe some of the suggestions can be implemented in Grimrock 2. However it's possible that as features increase - gameplay decreases. Sounds weird, but could be true....

Re: My negative impressions and suggestions
Sometimes a game 'just works'; it feels right, it plays right. Sometimes when too much is added, things can get 'muddy'. Grimrock IMHO feels right. The gameplay is awesome, it plays beautifully. It's addictive! Sure I would have liked Clerics, and Elves, and stuff written on the walls that only Dwar...

Re: Runes Logic and Custom Spells
I was thinking that the Entangle spell would work similar to the Ice Spell which freezes enemies...i.e. it wears off after 5 to 10 seconds. If the Spiritual weapon was able to be passed to another party member it would need a high spell cost. If it's for the mages use only, then it should be a cheap...

Re: Runes Logic and Custom Spells
The Earth school of magic is crying out for a 'freeze' type spell...something like Entangle should do. Re: Just a Grimrock Story
I'm sure it's worth continuing - I like your writing style, the dialogue is very impressive. As the characters go through the dungeon their back-stories can be fleshed out, I'm keen to hear more about 'Sam the Cursed' and Jarmor's problems. I can envisage at least four chapters fleshing out these ch...

Re: Just a Grimrock Story
Really enjoyed this excellent intro piece - hoping you'll continue. :) Having them bound by chains works really well for the story of four strangers working together in Mount Grimrock, and for the 2x2 movement limitations. Bravo for this. With the prisoners shackled one to the next, any formation is...

Re: Comments on Game Design
The next time you start a new game, check the ceiling in the entry room. There's no holes in the ceiling of the starting room The very first thing I did was check the ceiling upon entry (I'm anal like that) - and I'm pretty sure there was a chimney-esque opening for the fall. I was sufficiently con...

Re: Comments on Game Design
On that point - I can't say I'm all that pleased about being 'rewarded' for falling into pits. It's sorta like rewarding poor play.

Re: illegible font anomaly
Is this anything to do with Anti-Aliasing - I know some games have this blurry AA going on (it can probably be forced in the cards control panel). The setting works great in games like Skyrim for blurring those jagged aliased edges. Maybe this is being applied (badly) here? I think it's FXAA or some...
