I'm having severe trouble with the hallway/room starting off next to the source of the single lightning conduit in the long hallway in level 8. Since I could hear an ogre stomping around there and I'm still missing the gear key, process of elimination and logic had it the key has to be hidden behind...

Even after reading all of these I still can't find the bow, but I'd like to contribute by saying the slimes at the crossbow are well doable before finishing the 4th level. I've done all of level 4 apart from the time and tide since afaik I'll need a projectile weapon for that, and my party is around...
