Re: Herder's Den ate my Shuriken

On certain tiles like outdoor forest shrub/tree tiles (my own experience), thrown weapons can land in one square further than the square the hit or miss took place in, which (I think) has to do with hit calculations applied to mobs walking onto that tile. This can result in thrown weapons drooping i...

Re: Anyone else feel like Fighter is almost completely usele

It is extremely hard but if you are willing to reload, it is possible with Bombs for the DPS, Forcefield & Frost Bombs for control and massive amounts of consumable (potion) consumption.

Re: Anyone else feel like Fighter is almost completely usele

Fighter isn't a really viable choice for your primary dps source (basic attack spammer) but using the scythe in combination with a crit build (hybrid or specialist) provides a really nice burst capability that lets you to basically skip 1/4th of your fights via 1 hit kills.

Re: Hey guys - Party advice

Personally, I generally go with what I call 3+1 approach; 3 characters with high dps and 1 that can add some, 3 characters that have armour (3 heavy, 1 light) and 1 squishy, 3 high resist characters with 1 potion addict, For dps output, I generally use 2 melee str characters and a caster with a dex ...

Re: On Weapon and Class balance

Oh, I'll admit that the danger from such encounters are very dependent on your gear and to a lesser extent level status and not too hard to recover from during regular gameplay but if you are playing on hard (or even worse, with the evil options on), such moments can make or break your game. That's ...

Re: Cemetery Top Right

You are thinking about the 6 pits in the north-east corner right? 123 456 The answer is quite simple once you get the hang of the logic behind it, there are 2 separate "toggles" that are moved around in a clockwise rotation by the buttons. half of the buttons move 1 toggle and the others m...

sapientCrow; The "50 dex char" idea is a pretty simple one. Assuming that one doesn't excessively grinds; [10 Base] +5 Character Creation +2 Ratling Racial +4 Existing Potions +14 Crystal Flower Brewed Potions +10 to +12 Crystal Flowers from Alchemist Herb Growth Ability +1 Tome of Leaders...

Re: On Weapon and Class balance

Frankly, the only reason I did some cursory testing on bows was the fact that not including some info about them would have been both a cop-out due to laziness and my weird fetish of trying to be as impartial and objective as I can during dissecting a game's mechanics. With the loss of the off-hand,...

Re: On Weapon and Class balance

Jad; Possible, even probable as armour also worked in such a way during our trek trough the Grimrock Mountain. I haven't extensively (100+) tested it but from my cursory testing I got the impression that Armour Penetration seems to be working a lot closer to 1:1 ratio because I'm not really seeing a...
