Re: Grimrock is actually very adventurers-friendly
I actually thought it was a pity that there weren't any fake walls. Some would have been cool (I kept bumping into walls in the hope of finding one), but overdoing it is of course not desirable either. Also, breakable (wooden) doors would have been cool too. All in all though, the puzzles and the ex...

Re: LoG with my 5 year old kid + 'Dungeon Addiction'
and I can make a fake mustache?" Oh man. Is that some Gabriel Knight you've been smoking there? ;) I hate that kind of irrational puzzles. Maybe they were OK in a game like Sam'n'Max which was based on (somewhat) irrational humor, but in a supposedly serious game, it's just annoying. The LoG p...

Re: 2x2 strafing undermines character building
I for one like the current system just fine. Perhaps AH can implement some more exotic attack types for the new monsters in LoG 2 or whatever the sequel is going to be called. 29 here, and loving it. I think I was around 10 when I first discovered Dungeon Master on the Amiga. That would be around 1992? (yes, the game had already been out for a number of years at that point, but before the Internet word of mouth (and.. floppies from friends ;) were pretty much the only way...

Re: GPU Overheating
Well, I just want to chime in and say that I don't blame Almost Human for this. It's only with the most recent generation of graphics cards (the 7xxx series Radeon and the latest Geforce) that the graphics card makers have woken up to the fact that different usage patterns can drive the power consum...

Re: GPU Overheating
I've got a passively cooled Gigabyte Radeon 4850 and the top temperatures I saw were 106°C. I need to improve my cooling ;-) The computer in fact once shut down without warning, which I presume was due to the high temperatures. It was fine after waiting a minutes and turning it back on. I notice tha...
