Re: 2x2 strafing undermines character building [edited]

Encephalon: I am talking about 2x2, not killing a charging ogre. Also 2x2 exploit != strafing. Care to quote me where I wanted to remove strafing completely?
BlueLegion: can you show me some statistics if you are so bold to claim that majority of players enjoy mindless killing of a defensless mob?

Re: 2x2 strafing undermines character building [edited]

For me 2x2 is a clear example of an exploit. It allows you to kill any single mob without any HP loss, without any skill or tactics, no matter the party level. If this is not an exploit for you I don't know what is. This thread is steadily growing and still no response from the dev team... I wanted ...

huh? This topic is getting ridiculous. I will just wait for the reply from the devs if there will ever be a one.

Re: More tactical combat.

not saying that any of these ideas are bad, but combat is not the core mechanic of this game, or this type of game. the puzzle solving is. implementing these suggestions in a way that would not just completely annihilate players would mean everything about the game outside of the puzzles would have...

Re: 2x2 strafing undermines character building [edited]

Noone wants to remove strafing from the game but currently the 2x2 is like IDDQD in Doom. It requires very minimal timing so about everyone is capable of doing it. That's the core of the problem. Compare it to backpedalling in narrow corridors... it at least requires a player to memorize the way bac...

Re: 2x2 strafing undermines character building [edited]

\/4n!ll4 ][c3: I got destroyed in Dark Souls and took me some very long time to figure things out (and I am Demon's souls veteran, melee only, no boss exploits). Took me like 20 attempts to defeat belltower gargoryles. Maybe you are just that good or you grind a lot. On the other hand in LoG I figur...

Re: 2x2 strafing undermines character building [edited]

How can you even compare this to Dark souls (not mentioning its predecessor which was pretty much flooded with exploits)? In Dark souls you had to carefully study patterns and strike at the right moment. But in LoG all you need to do is to lure any enemy into 2x2 area and then exploit the hell out o...

Re: 2x2 strafing undermines character building [edited]

I would go that far and call the 2x2 cheese an exploit. There is no way this was intended by the devs.

Re: More tactical combat.

I really like the blocking idea. Hopefully it can be implemented via mods later on.
