Re: Favorite Race/Class Combo?
Human Alchemist is by far my favorite combo. I play my Alchemists as magic user, and a magic using Alchemist needs lots of skill points, which Humans just so happen to provide. Others may be more powerful, but I've yet to find a race/class combo where each aspect covers weaknesses in the other so pe...

Re: Level 7 Iron Door Note
Do keep in mind the snowballs always come in the same order. You might want to write them down, and then follow your notes rather than watching the screen waiting for them to come. This was the key for me. I could never ever have opened the door by trying to move to intercept orbs as I saw them. I ...

Re: Pretty easy party setup - almost no challenge
2 archers would mean either of the front characters would have to discard the shield, or he'd have to stumble around in the dark (which actually is not that dark at all). Yep, I never realized how much ambient light there really is until I started my Toorum run. No room for a torch or caster weapon...

Re: Things the devs didn't think through
I think the mages are bordering on overpowered as it is. Right now my mage has 22 spare skill points that I have not spent (17 plus 5 from an item) because I'm waiting to see which magic path I want to specialise in. Yet he's doing just great, thanks very much, always the first to level and now nea...

Re: Set Bonus?
Yes, the items are nice, and they are a reward for finding them. However, that in no way makes them feel like a set whatsoever. More like different items that happen to have somewhat similar names/looks/stats. Adding a set bonus, however minor, would give them a feel of being an actual set, and giv...

Re: food consumption
I'm not 100% sure if the difficulty level has an influence on food consumption. I hadn't thought of that. If it does, then surely it doesn't need fixing. You can always get through with the crystals if need be. I did practically entire level 12 and 13 with my entire party starving, saving the bit o...

Re: Grimrock - What I Do Not Like
I'm 40, have RSI and early onset arthritis in my hands, and I managed to beat the game no problem. OK, I just don't get this attitude. Bully for you - you managed to beat the game no problem. That does not address the issues of any of the people having issues with the timed puzzles. You read my res...

Re: food consumption
Sometimes I wish I could see what people are doing that run out of food. There has to be something, but I can't figure out what. Most of the other things people complain about, I have I think a pretty good idea of why they are having trouble. Food concerns are the one that is a complete mystery to ...

Re: Collective Suggestion Thread [Exp + Quiver + More to com
so you kinda suggest, that we should the get EXP points only once or twice for each kind of monster we kill. after killing 1-2 spider we just learnt how to kill them an no experience points earned anymore :) Since I didn't actually suggest that in any way, no, I do not suggest it. I said "a pa...

Re: food consumption
That's probably both the easiest and best solution to the food issue at the first few levels. The easiest and best solution would actually be to learn how to manage your food correctly and not blame the game for your failings. Particularly since food consumption scales with difficulty level - you c...
