And few occasions in normal attacks as well.

A spell that would make buttons glow slightly for about 10 seconds each time. About three, or four tiles radius for the spell.
It would need a high spellcraft level. At least 20 to be used and also energy needed for casting it needs to be high.

Do characters gain any xp from secrets found, or only for killing monsters?

I am on level 9, where is this snail room on lvl 6 exactly?

(edit) Went searching for it and found it. Had to kill few snails to get food, but now all is good.

Those spiders were scary and got under my skin really well on third level. Alone home in broad dayllight and spider screamed and i "lost control" of my mouse.

37 years. Have played dungeon master and chaos strikes back when they were on Atari ST and amiga. Did not much like eye of beholder series, but played them too. Is anyone here that played Chaos strikes back with resurrected characters? Damn that was fun. Made characters that could withstand dragons ...

Or make a training level, where there are simple easy to kill monsters and easy puzzles to train movement and combat.

Do have few extra torches in inventory. You will need them as a light source and solving puzzles.
