For a friend of mine the game crashes and hangs is computer. I've instructed him to manually install Direct X and the vcredist that comes with the game. He'll also install the newest GFX-drivers. Any other suggestions?

I have pre-ordered the game from this site. I guess the game is not released yet. But when it is how do I download the stand alone version? Do I get it through the "Humble Store" email I got when pre ordering? This is the only email I got.
